Peugeot volta a vencer a Petit Le Mans

A Peugeot obteve a sua terceira vitória consecutiva na Petit Le Mans, prova de 1000 milhas disputada neste sábado em Road Atlanta. Na classe LMP1, o protótipo guiado por Franck Montagny, Stephane Sarrazin e Alex Wurz ficou cinco voltas na frente do ORECA de Nicolas Lapierre, Marc Gené e Nicolas Minassian.

Os dois Audi R18 TDIs abandonaram. Romain Dumas colidiu com um Porsche da classe GTC, e o modelo de Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen e Rinaldo Capello teve problemas mecânicos. A terceira posição ficou com Stefan Mucke, Adrian Fernandez e Harold Primat, da Aston Martin Racing Lola.

Na classe LMP2, a vitória foi da Level 5 Motorsports HPD guiada por Christophe Bouchut, Joao Barbosa e Scott Tucker. Na GT, quem triunfou foi a AF Corse Ferrari 458 de Gianmaria Bruni, Giancarlo Fisichella e Pierre Kaffer.

Entre os brasileiros, todos da GT, o melhor foi Augusto Farfus, terceiro na sua classe e 12º no geral. Bruno Junqueira abandonou, assim como Jaime Melo e Raphael Matos.
